Dear John-Chap 17
John's dad sadly died 7 weeks after John left. John received leave for the funeral and to get things in order. A lawyer came and told John that the funeral was prepaid for and that everything was his. Every single coin was now in John's pocession. Before John left on his last leave, his father gave John a map and shovel and when John went to go see what it was he found every coin. The lawyer gave John lots of papers and when John looked them over he found the only picture he ever took with his father. John cried. I know I would, that tough to loose someone who means so much to them. After the funeral one of John's ex girlfriends came to talk to him. She made John realize how much he was still in love with Savannah.
Dear John- Chapter 16
John couldn't say that recieving that letter didn't change him at all. He began to not care about really anything at all and was always angry about something. I can't say that I blamed him. He was in love with her and she just threw it away like it meant nothing. Once John's term ended he decided to once again reup, since he really had no reason to leave. The only thing that John really still cared about was his father, but sadly his health was declining. He suffered another heart attack that led to many other problems. I can't even imagine what it'd fell like to know that your father is dying but you can't be by his side. When John returned home he found his dad to be very weak and even though a neighbor said she'd keep up the house, it was so dirty. John was upset with the neighbor, tell he spoke with her and found out she's been doing as much she possibly could. That was when John knew even though it would kill his father even faster, he needed to go to a care facility. And when John left to go back to Germany that was the last time he ever saw him alive.

Dear John- pg 186-187
When John got back from the fight he had 6 letters from his father, but only one from Savannah. That right there is definatly a bad sign. In the letter it explained how she has fallen in love with someone else. She also explained how much she really does love John and cares deeply for him, but the time they have spent apart has really put a dent in there relationship.

Dear John pg 184-185
With the happenings of 9/11 it was inevetable that there was going to be a war. John and the rest of the soldiers were prepared for anything that might break loose. Learning the maps of the areas they would have to be on and learn how to use some new equipment. Then it came the day when they attacked Samawah where John had his first look at what real combat was like. I could never join the army, just the thought of killing another human being. I couldn't do it. After that fight was done no one in John's group got killed which is a good thing, they all were just extremely worked up about what had just happened. I know I'd be the one shaking like no other probably some tears coming. After that they began to had back to where they came from.

Dear John pg 182-183
It is getting clearer and clearer that Savannah and John are drifting apart. You could really see that when John said he would be home in less than a year and Savannah said nothing but I've heard that before. John was now in Turkey and ways of communication was nearly impossible.

Dear John-pages 180-181
When it was time for John to go back to where he was stationed his father was back at home and plans were made for someone to help his father. Savannah went to the airport with John again, but there wasn't as many tears as before. John knew their relationship was not good. As the summer went on John's father began getting his strength back and Savannah and his relationship stayed the same. John decided to call his father on Tuesdays and Fridays now just to talk. He continued to call Savannah, but when she didn't answer, which meant she wasn't home, John grew angrier.
Dear John- pages 178-179
When John's leave came, fate went againt John Savannah. It came that John's father had a heart attack, so instead of going to spend the 2 weeks with Savannah, it was spent in a hospital. Savannah made it back as much as she could, but with classes it was hard. When they were together they found themselves getting into fights, and weakening their relationship. It did strengthen John and his fathers. John would read stuff about coins and he's father would just smile.
Dear John pages 176-177
Even though John wanted nothing more than to be with Savannah and not reenlisting, but after September 11th everything changed. John signed up for two more years in the army. I applaud him for doing that, he could of taken the easy way out and just said he didn't want to, but he did what was best for his counry. After that when Savannah wrote John things were different. She told John she was proud of him for reenlisting, but it showed later how much she really hated it.

Dear John-Chapter 14
John and Savannah spent the remaining days inseperable. Well other than when Savananh was in classes. They went to see John's dad during the weekend to find he had so much to say about coins. Then they returned for their final week together. When it was time to go Savannah cried but said she'd be stronger this time, and John foced himself to believe it. It was only six months this time they'd be seperated and they knew the hard part was behind them. The time they'd see each other grew smaller and John knew nothing would stand in their way. That is tell September 11, 2001 happened.

Dear John-Chapter 13
The year is finally up and he and Savannah have 2 whole weeks together. All of Johns fears on how it would be when they first saw each other melted away when he saw her running towards him once he got off the terminal. They stayed standing there for awhile and when they finally left they made there way to Savannah's parents house, they were staying there for the weekend. After the weekend was over John and Savannah went to Savannah's apartment because she had school. The week didn't go as smoothly as they would like. Savannah was doing alot of stuff with her friends and was bring John along. John didn't like this, that they never had any time alone. It came through one day and they got in a huge fight about. The conclusion was that Savannah made such a busy schedule for them so it wasn't as hard when he left. I get that, I think if I was in her shoes I'd do the same. Just protecting yourself. In the end they made love, but John was worried it was a act of desperation, that it was the only thing they had to remember.

Dear John-Chapter 12
John and Savannah now had to get used to being seperated. It got easier as the time went on, but it was still hard. It'd be weird if it wasn't, loving someone that much a nd when they're gone you don't miss them would be unheard of. They wrote, emailed, and around Christmas John surprised her with a call. When the time came closer for John to come home he began to get nervous, not knowing what to expect. In the time they were apart Savannah graduated and is now taking summer classes.

Dear John-Chapter 11
John placed a note on Tim's car for Savannah asking her to meet him at the pier. He placed it there because he knew that it was the only place she would sure get it. John was worried that Savannah would be so mad she wouldn't show. I know I'd be mad if my best friend nose got broke by the person I love. John quickly started apologizing for what all happened. Savannah soon said that it's not necessary, that she brought it on. After this it was clear the only had one more day together. So the next day they made the most of it. They talked about how they were going to miss each other terrribly, but they would write, email, and when ever possible talk on the phone. When it came down to saying goodbye there were tears. I can't even imagine, it'd be so hard. Savannah gave John a letter, but she said he couldn't open it tell he was on the plain. He obeyed her wishes. He spent the night spending time with his father and then he took him to the airport. When the plain was in the air John opened the letter to find a picture of Savannah and a long message. It explained how much he meant to her and how she will marry him someday.

Dear John-Chapter 10
After everything that just went on John was furious, both at himself and at Savannah. I don't blame him, I think if someone would say something like that to me I'd freak out. John drove around for along time trying to get his composure. When he woke up the next day he found himself looking at his father differently thinking that maybe Savannah was actually right. When his dad left at exactly the same time as he always does there was a knock on the door. To Johns surprise it was Tim bandaged and bruised from John breaking his nose. John apologized for that many times. He felt so bad. I would to, defiantly if it was a accident. Tim told John that he needs to really think about forgiving Savannah, even though she was in the wrong, she really just wanted to help. John knew this. Tim brought John the book Savannah gave him and after he left he read it. After this John knew there was a chance he had it. It didn't matter to him, he was still the man who raised him. And after supper John did something he never thought he would and asked his dad to show him the new coins.

Dear John-Chapter 9
Savannah and John have now been seeing each other alot more than they were before since they were pretty much a couple. Savannah came to John's house to visit with his dad a couple times. The first time nothing was said about coins, but then the second time they were in the den looking at coins and Savannah was just listening to what was being said. One night John came to get Savannah and she was no where to be found. After awhile of looking for her John found her crying. When John asked why she said she realized how things won't be the same in a few days when John leaves. John finds himself being able to calm her down, but when Savannah does something I didn't even expect John's the one freaking out. She gave John a book on Aspergers. John didn't get it at first, but then when Savannah said she thinks his dad has it John freaks! He ends up hitting three people and one of them being Tim.

Dear John-Chapter 8
Savannah and John talked in the rain without even noticing it was raining. I can handle rain and even thunder and lightign, but when you get the possibiliy of a tornado in there I freak. What they talked about was alot deeper than they've ever talked before. Savannah asked John if he was ever in love. He replied with that he thought he was, but never had the full want for her. When John asked Savannah the same question things changed quickly and got serious. Savannah explained things that happened her freshmen year. She had a boyfriend who was older than her. He was popular and all the girls loved him. Savannah was warneed himd that he was just a player, but she didn't listen. That is tell something bad happened. He took her to a party and got her a pop, but when she was done drinking it she got woozy and didn't feel very good. He took her to a room and after a bit he was on her and ripping the cloths on her. He would of gone all the way if someone didn't come into the room. What a jerk! This upset John alot, and he said that he would beat him up if Savannah wanted him to. After this John told Savannah he loved her, and it took awhile but she said it back. And they began kissing.

Dear John-Chapter 7
After Savannah and John were done eating there cheese burgers on the beach Savannah wanted to show John the house they were working on. That wouldn't be any fun, all your doing is looking at the outter part of house. While they were sitting there a thunderstorm came. Surprisingly Savannah said to just stay cause she loves them. Complete opposite of me, I hate thunderstorms.
