Sarah's Key-Pages 30-33
The story comes back to the little girl and her parents, they are now in a stadium filled with people. They are treated like dogs with no water and no room. The sad thing is that people keep on coming in. The girl found a boy that she knows. He ripped the star of his cloths and told the girl that he was going to get out of this place and invited her to come along. She wanted to come but she didn't want to leave her parents. The boys first attemp wasn't good he got shoved on to the ground. He then waited for when the people coming in were freaking out and he snuck out. This made me feel bad that police of their own city treated them like this. They treated them like they weren't even humans. That makes me very mad! About the little boy who got out, I feel hopeful but scared for him at the same time. Hopeful because if all goes well he could be free, but if he gets caught it could be a different story.

Personal Finace 9/27/11
We had to read some stuff on the stock market for class today, and I can say it really didn't clear anything up for me. I don't get how you can buy stock and then sell it that same day and make money off of it. I really hope he explains it alot more than the reading material did.

Meet Smurfette
In “Meet Smurfette” an evil wizard makes a plan to capture the smurfs. He creates a Smurfette and gives her orders to get the smurfs to fallow her. She agreed, her first way of getting them to fallow her is to make them fall in love. This did not work, so she then tried to do it by force. She takes the “Greedy” smurf and asks to show her how to close the dam off. When the smurf opens the dam and then tries to shut it smurfette wouldn’t let him. The rest of the smurfs noticed the fast waters approaching, they rushed to the dam. They found Smurfette in the water and they saved her. Once they got the dam closed off they needed to punish Smurfette. They asked why she did and they told them that the evil wizard forced her. The elder wizard mixed up potions and gave them to Smurfette and a new Smurfette appears. Now all the Smurfs are in love with Smurfette.

Sarah's Key-Pages 1-29
The beginning of Sarah's Key really made me sad and frustrated. The book is diveded between 2 completly different worlds. One of them is a girl who is taken away from her home by French police with her mother and father. She locks her brother in a secret hidding place where no one will be able to find him. She promises to come back for him. She soon realizes that she won't be coming back and theres a good chance she'll never see him again so she can't fufill her promise. I cant even imagine what my feelings would be at that point in time. To one morning wake up to people banging on your door and then saying you had to leave your home. Then you have the promise you made to someone you love and when you realize probably wont be able to fullfil that promise. Words can't even describe how terrible that would be. On the other side you have a jornalist who lives in France in the modern day who has to cover the roundup that happened in France in 1942. I was frustrated in this part because she barely knew anything of that happened. It also said that the French didn't talk about it that much because they were embarressed. That honestly makes me really mad, I feel like you should talk about in memory of what the families went threw.

9/21/11-Government
Government is my least favorite class this year so far. Politics have never interested me at all. I get the reason of why I need to know the stuff, but I really wish we could just not do it. I hear about it enough when my brother comes home. I really hate having to hear every other day to. I wish it was only a semester class!

Accounting
When I started accounting this year I honestly thought "what am I getting myself into" and also "why do I want to do this for the rest of my life." That quickly changed after a few days when I found myself speeding threw my assignment and really happy while doing it. That really doesn't happen all to often in school for me. Last year I started off hating accounting, just like this year, but then I really started to enjoy it. Now I can see myself doing it for the rest of my life. I really don't think I'm going to go to be a CPA, but when I went and toured DWU the professor said that I could get a business degree with a high pull on accoutning. I think thats what I want to do.

So Many Bananas
One day Dora and Boots were together and Boots found a wishing machine. With this Boots wished for bananas every time he said bananas. Soon he had so many bananas and it was just enough. But now when ever he said it one would come to him. He had to fix this, but sadly his wishing machine broke. They had to go to Robot's (albuelo) to wish on his wishing machine. They set out for the journey using map their trusted friend. They had to go across a bridge but to do so they had to anwer a riddle. The answer of course was bananas and of course one pops up. Next they had to cross the river, but they needed the turtles help. They have them bananas and they helped them out. They finally get to Abuelo's Workshop and Boots make his wish that when he says "bananas" one doesn't appear. His wish came true! This is such a wonderful book it really shows teamwork, great to teach little kids. But the banana part was gross because I hate bananas!

Water for Elephants
For these first few weeks of school I have started and just finished Water for Elephants. I absoletly loved this book. There's a good chance that it might be my favorite book. It is a story about Jacob and how at his worst he jumped a train and he didn't know what he was in for. On that train he found friends that he'd do anything for, a crazy man, animals, and the love of his life. Jacob jumped onto a circus train. He soon became the vet of the circus once they found out that he went to a ivy league school. Jacob went there but he wasn't a certified vet because the day he was taking his final exam he was notified that his parents we're in a car crash and they didn't make it. So Jacob walked along a train track till he saw one coming and he jumped on it. I don't blame him if my parents passed away and I had a big test that day, I would freak out and not take it. I don't see how you could take it when you have so much emotion built up in you. On the train Jacob met Walter. They weren't exactly friends right away, but it ended up they cared a lot about one another. Jacob met August, who turned out to be a psychopath. Then theirs Marlena who was married to August, but during the time she got to know Jacob she fell in love with him, and relized that she doesn't love August and his ways. Finally we have Rosie who is my favorite character in this book. Rosie is an elephant that was bought to try and help the show raise money. In the end Rosie becomes the hero in my eyes because she kills August with her steak that holds her into the ground when there is a stamped that is going on during the circus. Due to the stampede the circus is forced to shut down, and another circus comes and claims the animals and train. In the end Marlena, Rosie, Jacob, 11 horses, and bobo a monkey go to Ringling and perform with them. Jacob and Marlena get married. The ending of the story is that a 93 year old Jacob escapes from a nursing home and finally gets to go home to travel with another circus. There was always something going on in this book, something that made me want to always read it, thats why I loved reading it.
