Water for Elephants

For these first few weeks of school I have started and just finished Water for Elephants. I absoletly loved this book. There's a good chance that it might be my favorite book. It is a story about Jacob and how at his worst he jumped a train and he didn't know what he was in for. On that train he found friends that he'd do anything for, a crazy man, animals, and the love of his life. Jacob jumped onto a circus train. He soon became the vet of the circus once they found out that he went to a ivy league school. Jacob went there but he wasn't a certified vet because the day he was taking his final exam he was notified that his parents we're in a car crash and they didn't make it. So Jacob walked along a train track till he saw one coming and he jumped on it. I don't blame him if my parents passed away and I had a big test that day, I would freak out and not take it. I don't see how you could take it when you have so much emotion built up in you. On the train Jacob met Walter. They weren't exactly friends right away, but it ended up they cared a lot about one another. Jacob met August, who turned out to be a psychopath. Then theirs Marlena who was married to August, but during the time she got to know Jacob she fell in love with him, and relized that she doesn't love August and his ways. Finally we have Rosie who is my favorite character in this book. Rosie is an elephant that was bought to try and help the show raise money. In the end Rosie becomes the hero in my eyes because she kills August with her steak that holds her into the ground when there is a stamped that is going on during the circus. Due to the stampede the circus is forced to shut down, and another circus comes and claims the animals and train. In the end Marlena, Rosie, Jacob, 11 horses, and bobo a monkey go to Ringling and perform with them. Jacob and Marlena get married. The ending of the story is that a 93 year old Jacob escapes from a nursing home and finally gets to go home to travel with another circus. There was always something going on in this book, something that made me want to always read it, thats why I loved reading it.
