Sarah's Key-74-78
Julia went and say her Mame who was her great-grandma-in-law. Mame brought up the apartment and how the process of making changes to it was going. That was exactly Julia wanted because she had questions about how they got the apartment. Mame moved into the apartment in late July of 1942, the same time that the round up happened. She said that it was so easy to get a house because of the round up. Mame got mad when asked why they took the house if they knew that someone didn't want to sell the house. She said "we knew nothing, nothing at all!" What really hit me in this chapter was that Julia said that Mame had alzheimers. My grandma has it, she isn't to the point where she can't remember who I am and I hope to God that that never happens.
